Atlantic Fields is a project that just keeps giving, and not in a good way. Sussex County residents must recognize what county council has now acknowledged through a unanimous 5-0 vote to deny the zone change on this parcel. Our existing infrastructure is simply not equipped to handle the volume of traffic this development would bring to the surrounding neighborhoods.
There is, however, a far more suitable alternative location at the intersection of Route 1 and Route 16, known as Ocean One. That area has recently undergone significant infrastructure upgrades and is clearly capable of accommodating a project of this scale without overwhelming local roads or compromising public safety
