Atracare’s Albanese honored among young women leaders

June 6, 2023

The Delaware Commission for Women and the Office of Women's Advancement & Advocacy formally recognized Dr. Lindsay Albanese of Atracare and three others during a May 30 luncheon held at the Buena Vista Country Estate.

The honorees were selected for the She's On Her Way Award, which recognizes talented Delaware women leaders who are under 40 years old and have made significant contributions in the state.

The commission selected Albanese for her continued commitment to increase access to healthcare for patients in Sussex County. Nominators noted her rapid response to this need, especially in areas important to women: pediatrics, primary care, lactation counseling, mental health, and two urgent cares that are open 365 days a year.

Other initiatives that received accolades were her vaccine clinics at local schools, churches and events, as well as her commitment to support and train young urgent care providers in the company’s Lewes and Ocean View offices.

The luncheon was highlighted by a speech from Tracey Quillen Carney, Delaware’s first spouse, who gave an insightful look at Tina Turner’s life by highlighting the challenges women have to overcome and how they are stronger and better for dealing with their adversity head-on and not allowing others to dictate their own career path.

Albanese thanked the commission and expressed gratitude to the women in medicine who came before her and helped pave the way for physicians like herself to be able to accomplish her goals.

“I always wanted to be the final voice for my patients. I co-founded Atracare so that I have the resources to be a stronger advocate for my patients and for other women in need,” said Albanese.

Albanese, Atracare’s chief medical officer, is board certified in emergency medicine. She sees patients in both the Ocean View and Lewes walk-in clinics. To make an appointment, text 302-754-5697 for the Ocean View clinic or 302–517-1385 for Lewes, or go to atracare.com.
