Bayhealth holds ceremony to celebrate nurse residents

Bayhealth recently held its biannual Nurse Residency Graduation Ceremony, honoring the dedication and growth of 37 graduating nursing residents. The event marks an important milestone for the participants and underscores Bayhealth’s ongoing investment in nursing excellence.
The Nurse Residency Program is designed to support new graduate nurses as they transition into clinical practice. Through mentorship, structured education and hands-on experience, these nurses build confidence and competence while delivering safe, compassionate care to the communities Bayhealth serves.
“This ceremony is more than just a celebration of time passed; it represents a meaningful achievement for our nurse residents,” said Bayhealth Chief Nurse Executive Rosi Wurster, DNP, RN, MPH, NEA-BC, CEN. “They’ve completed their foundational year and are now continuing into their second year with the skill, strength and support they need to succeed.”
Bayhealth’s commitment to nursing extends beyond the residency program. From advanced training opportunities to a collaborative work environment, the organization continues to prioritize professional development and retention for both new and experienced nurses.
“Supporting our nurses from the very beginning is essential,” said Wurster. “We know that when we invest in our nursing team members, we’re also investing in the quality of care we provide to our community.”
The ceremony also serves as a powerful recruitment message, highlighting Bayhealth’s dedication to cultivating a strong, supported workforce. Whether internal team members are looking to advance their careers or external candidates are considering a new opportunity, Bayhealth offers a professional environment where nurses can thrive.
“Our nurse residents have shown tremendous growth, and we’re proud to celebrate their accomplishments,” said Wurster. “They are an important part of our future, and their success reflects the strength of our nursing culture.”
