Beach Bingo to raise funds for Miriam's Table Feb. 29

February 26, 2020

Miriam's Table will hold a bingo fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m., at St. Jude's Parish Hall in Lewes. The event will include 10 rounds of bingo and live and silent auctions. Auction items will include artwork by local painters and photographers, jewelry from Harry K Jewelry, a Lobster Gram gift certificate, a variety of gift cards, and food and beverage-themed baskets. Complimentary snacks will be served and there will be beer and wine for purchase.

Miriam's Table is a nonprofit organization established in 2015 to feed starving children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. "Miriam's Table is completely funded through donations and sponsorships. About 70 percent of the donations come from local people and our Dining Out program at local restaurants.  Without this support, we would not be able to feed all 350 children.  A child can be fed through our program for a whole year at the cost of just $135," explains Susie Keefer, co-founder of Miriam's Table.

Event sponsors include Iron Hill Brewery, Atlantic Liquors and Giant Foods of Rehoboth. Admission is $20 per person. For tickets, call or text Jaclyn at 302-278-2777, visit Miriam's Table on Facebook, or search "Beach Bingo" on Eventbrite.
