Bethany Blues of Lewes to roll out fast casual dining

December 8, 2021

At the beginning of the new year, Bethany Blues of Lewes will unveil a new Blues Express section of the restaurant with its own entrance.

“People are busier than ever, and we always evolve to meet the needs of our customers. Not everyone needs or wants full-service dining, and this is another option that will provide a wider availability of service in the long run,” said Jessica Nathan, director of operations.

Blues Express will have a focus on carryout and ordering quickly at a counter-style area. It will also have a grab-and-go section with cold items like salads and fountain drinks. This addition will allow customers to walk up and order, or call in and carry out, as well as grab something fast to sit down and eat without the full-service experience. Blues Express is coming just in time, because Bethany Blues of Lewes will begin renovations in mid-January, which means the dine-in section will be unavailable for about two months while they revamp the entire restaurant.

“The coming changes are really exciting. Of course it’s always wonderful to get a facelift and freshen up the entire space, but we are also adding some elements which are going to be really high-end and wonderful,” said Nathan.

One of those elements is new bar dedicated to bourbon. The bourbon bar will have an intimate feel, and lend itself naturally to events like the bourbon dinners and private parties. The space will have an air of elegance and allow the talented bourbon artists at Blues to further the narrative on their bourbon cocktails and concoctions.

The catering department, Beyond Catering, a division of Bethany Blues, will also be getting a dedicated space that allows for private tastings and meetings for catering clients.

The whole restaurant will be getting updates, from the floors to the furniture. The changes will all culminate with a grand reopening in March.

Moving with the times and being current are important to Bethany Blues team members, and these changes are going to allow for new types of services that speak directly to the clientele they are serving in Sussex County.
