Bethany Blues welcomes back locals with special event Sept. 21

September 14, 2021

This summer was busier than ever with the return of vacationers to area beach communities, but now that Labor Day has come and gone, let the shoulder season begin! Bethany Blues of Lewes is ready to welcome back all the locals they know, love, and miss with the 10th Annual Bluesapalooza from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Jessica Nathan, Bethany Blues director of operations, is excited about the rain-or-shine event that will feature all the Blues favorites from mouthwatering barbecue to live music from Electric Velvet. She said, “This year, we are really excited to have everyone back for this event, and it’s where we highlight what our off-season specials are going to be, as well as just welcoming back that fall vibe!”

The event will be held outdoors in the parking lot under a big tent, and will feature lots of great music, food, and a photo booth. A beer truck will be on site as well as offerings from the local Mispillion River Brewing, with beer, brats, and cheese tastings. VIP sign-ups will also be going on, and Southern Wine and Spirits will bring a selection of bourbon bottles, which purchasers can have etched on site as a perfect gift for the bourbon enthusiast in their life or a souvenir for their private collection.

This year includes a fundraising element that will go on to the end of September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Nathan said, “We are raising money all month for Nemours A.I. duPont Hospital. For every nacho purchase this month, we will give $2 to the children’s hospital. But at Bluespalooza we will also use the 50/50 money as well as the raffles to go directly to the cause!”

This is the perfect chance to come out of summer hibernation and back to this favorite local watering hole. Nathan and her staff remind everyone that parking is limited, so they should plan to come early and ride share to save on space to make sure as many locals as possible can enjoy the event!
