Blooming Boutique participating in Chavez for Charity

July 26, 2015

Chavez for Charity at the Blooming Boutique features more than 10 different colors to choose from at just $10 apiece, and feel good about helping others.

Chavez for Charity was created to raise money and awareness for some of today’s most important and necessary charitable initiatives. For each bracelet sold, 25 percent of the gross profit is donated to the associated charity.

Chavez sales benefit Gift for Life, Water.org, Best Friends Animal Society, Fisher House Foundation, Whole Planet Foundation, The Matthew Shepard Foundation, Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, Partners in Health, V-day, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

In addition, Chavez for Charity started the 11th Bracelet Project, which offers retailers the opportunity to choose an 11th charity to support locally. Blooming Boutique is proud to sell white Chavez for Charity bracelets in support of KINfolk Delaware, with 25 percent of the gross profits from white bracelets benefiting KINfolk Delaware.

“Facing a serious illness is scary for children, so anything we can do to make their experience less stressful is a win in my eyes,” said Micha Seto, Blooming Boutique owner. “Arming kids with technology is a great way for them to stay connected and remain in touch with the outside world while in the hospital. We are proud to support KINfolk and hope that our community will join us in supporting them by buying Chavez for Charity!”

KINfolk was founded on a simple principle: People helping kids in need. Children with serious illness and injury may spend many days, weeks, or months confined in a hospital or at home when they are both socially and emotionally isolated. KINfolk is dedicated to delivering a critical service to these children, providing them with laptops and free internet access to help them stay connected to friends, family, and school while relieving the anxiety, pain and depression associated with their illness. Since 1999, KINfolk has helped over 85,000 children in 31 states, and with the public's help can continue that proud tradition of service.

Chavez for Charity also offers a collection of handmade bracelets specifically made for children and tweens. This line benefits a line of charities that focus on kid-related issues. Charities include After-School All-Stars, Geffen Playhouse, HollyRod Foundation, Jumpstart, The Lunchbox Fund, The Painted Turtle, Pencils of Promise, Girls Inc., STOMP Out Bullying, and Whole Kids Foundation.
