Boys’ lax all-stars battle at DE Turf

June 12, 2025

The Blue squad earned bragging rights for 2025, as they defeated the White team 18-12 June 10 in the USA Lacrosse Senior All-Star Game at DE Turf.

Cape senior All-American Burke Healy and Appoquinimink’s Logan Czerwinski each scored four goals and an assist.

“It was a fun game tonight, and to be able to play with my guys one more time was special,” said Healy. “It’s a cool event, and it was also great to play on a team with the guys I played against for four years.”

Delmar’s Reid Washburn scored a goal and an assist. Caesar Rodney’s Julius Timmons and Parker Smith, and Sussex Tech’s Seth Rockwell each hit the twine once.

“It was so much fun to do another game with these Cape seniors,” said White squad coach Geoff Shupard. “Also having an opportunity to get to know a lot of other players from around the state was a great experience. These are all great kids, and I’m honored to share this last memory with them.”

Representing Cape were Hank Anderson, Evan Burris, Jake Hutchison, Luke Pickard and Healy.

“It’s a bittersweet night,” said Hutchison. “I’m thankful that I was surrounded by the guys I’ve played with for the last four years. We couldn’t accomplish the goal we had for the four years, but I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else and play with anyone else. I’m really happy I was at Cape.”
