Brimming Horn to release limited-edition mead July 20

A Friendship of Dwarves blends black raspberries and honey
July 20, 2018

Brimming Horn’s master mead-maker Jon Talkington will present a new hand-crafted black raspberry-honey mead, A Friendship of Dwarves, Friday, July 20. It will be sold in 500ml German ceramic bottles at $26.99 each at the meadery, 28615 Lewes-Georgetown Hwy., Milton, or online at brimminghornmeadery.com

A Friendship of Dwarves was a collaboration between Talkington and award-winning home mead maker Carvin Wilson. Earthy black raspberries and pure honey create an inky black melomel (mead with fruit) with balanced tannin and acidity, and bursting with flavor.

In Norse mythology, the dwarves are master craftsmen and created some of the most beautiful gifts and weapons for the gods. The dwarves have played pivotal roles in Scandinavian folklore for thousands of years, greedily creating the Mead of Poetry from the blood of Kvasir, dueling with Thor in a battle of wits, tricking the goddess Freya, and creating the greatest gift known to mankind and the gods, Thor’s Hammer Mjolnir. These tales were the inspiration for Brimming Horn’s latest creation.
