Broadway Springs Back opens outdoor season at PPP

The Possum Point Players presented their Mainstage Season opening show, “Broadway Springs Back,” April 16-18 on their new outdoor stage at the Possum Hall performing arts theater on Old Laurel Road in Georgetown. The show featured a two-act performance of songs from well-loved Broadway plays. Songs from “Les Miserables,” “Ragtime,” “Willy Wonka,” “You’re a Good  Man Charlie Brown,” “The Prince of Egypt,” “Bye, Bye Birdie,” “The Full Monty” and many more.

Upcoming performances include “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” a comedy written by award-winning playwright Christopher Durang that was the winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play. It will be performed on the weekends of May 7-9 and 14-16.

Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
