Brush Factory on Kings set to open June 15 in Lewes

Mercantile shop offers vintage and refurbished furniture, home goods and coastal decor
June 12, 2017

The Brush Factory on Kings is set to open Thursday, June 15, on Kings Highway in Lewes in the former RISE Fitness + Adventure building across from the First Baptist Church of Lewes.

The mercantile shop will feature 18 vendors offering a mix of vintage furniture, home goods and coastal decor. Local craftsmen, artists and clothing makers will also feature items in the shop.

Christine Chura, who owns the business with her husband Mark, said the goal is to create a community spot where people can come to enjoy shopping and recreation.

Two indoor pickleball courts will be placed in the back room of the old factory with its own entrance and parking lot. The courts are expected to be available to rent for individuals or groups beginning in July.

Chura said the Brush Factory on Kings is just one part of a economic movement on the Kings Highway section of Lewes, as Big Oyster Brewery continues to build its new brewery, Leisa Berlin constructs her market and bakery The Station on Kings, the Lewes Historical Society nears completion of its museum in the old Lewes library and the new library continues to thrive.

The Brush Factory on Kings will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, email brushlewes@gmail.com or search for The Brush Factory on Kings on Facebook.
