Cape 8-10 All-Stars defeat Millsboro 15-5

The Cape 8-10 All-Stars brought out the heavy hitters July 6 as they defeated a tough Millsboro squad 15-5 in five innings.
“We've started a little slow out of the gate in both games,” said Cape coach Jordan Reynolds. “Tonight, the girls showed a lot of discipline and poise after being behind almost halfway through the game. They recognized the competition is real, and their response with that big inning showed they were prepared for the moment. We're really proud their hard work and prep the last few weeks have paid off.”
Jordynn Bowe led Cape going 4-for-4 with six RBIs. Emma Reynolds went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Addi Zimmerman went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Mikayla Pollard, Makaila Sellers and Mikaela Gordon each had an RBI.
Riley Windish had an RBI and two steals. She also garnered four strikeouts in two innings in the circle.
Pitcher Teagan Baker picked up six strikeouts from the circle and helped herself from the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI and two stolen bases.
The Cape team was set to play Lower Sussex July 8 at the Millsboro Little League complex.
