Cape alum Carrie Lingo visits AVID classes at Beacon Middle

February 19, 2020

Cape graduate and University of North Carolina alumna Carrie Lingo visited the AVID classes at Beacon Middle School Feb. 3 and 4.

The focus behind her message and presentation for students was, “Always do the best you can do.” She told students she kept that mind-set throughout her college years, and those same words kept her going into the Olympics.

"Speaking with the students at Beacon Middle School was an absolute pleasure. The kids ended up motivating and inspiring me, when in fact I was there to motivate and inspire them. I even came away with some crucial organizational skills from their teacher, Mrs. Hughes,” said Lingo.

Now retired from USA Field Hockey, Lingo said she does the best she can do in real estate as an associate broker at Jack Lingo Realtor, and in being a mother of two young boys.
