January 29, 2023

Four Vikings hit in double figures, but the Cape boys’ basketball team dropped a close 60-54 game at Appoquinimink Jan. 26.

Jack Schell paced the Vikings with 20 points. Drew Zimmerman scored 11, while Tyrone Tolson and Trey Leggins added 10 each.

“We played hard and competed with one of the better teams in the state,” said Cape coach Steve Re. “We gave ourselves a chance to win. Some poor decisions and untimely turnovers cost us in the end, which is disappointing, but we have come a long way this season. I hope we can maintain our focus and finish the last several games the right way.”

Cape moves to 9-5, while the Jags are 10-3. The Vikings host Milford Tuesday, Jan. 31.
