Cape boys’ lax sinks the Bucs 22-2

April 14, 2025

In rainy and windy weather more suited for a duck, the Cape boys’ lacrosse team made it seven straight wins with a 22-2 running-clock victory over Milford April 11 at Cape’s Legends Stadium.

Ten Vikings scored in the contest. Burke Healy cranked the rock into the twine seven times, while Grant Conway tallied four, Brenner Short hit for three and freshman Patrick Healy scored two. Ryan Morgan, Evan Burris, Braddock Smith, Mathew Popovich, Channing Smith and Marshall Keys registered a goal each.

Healy helped on three goals, while David Adili-Khams had an assist.

“Playing in these conditions can sometimes be tough,” said Burris. “But our team did a good job at focusing on what was important and got the job done. The rain did not stop us from putting the ball in the back of the net where [many] of our guys did a good job of stepping up and contributing to our success.”

“The guys did a great job of overcoming the weather and playing a good game,” said Cape coach Geoff Shupard. “They moved the ball very well and are making better decisions during the game. It’s been fun to watch.”

Cape moves to 7-1 while the Bucs are 3-4.
