Cape boys’ tennis defeats Milford 4-1

The Cape boys’ tennis team moved to 7-2 on the season with a 4-1 victory over Milford April 26.

Cape’s Oliver Townsend defeated Liam Dennehy 6-3, 6-1 at first singles. Cape’s Aiden Bowman downed the Bucs’ Sajous Duckens 6-1, 6-0. Third singles was won by Zachary Miller 7-5, 6-1 over Jefferson Mendez of Milford.

Cape’s first doubles team of Alejandro Justiniani and Trent Kauffman downed Milford’s Albert Kiser and Cheng Jun Zhang 6-0, 6-2. Milford’s second doubles team of Agusto Pereira and Orrin Sharp defeated Cape’s Alec Radka and Nathaniel Hoang 6-4, 6-3.

 

Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
