Cape faculty put on a great show

September 17, 2024

I would like to congratulate those who participated in the Cape Henlopen School District's Music Faculty Fundraiser Recital at the high school auditorium Sept. 12

The arts are alive and well at Cape Henlopen. We listened to beautiful vocals, strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion for a little over an hour. The talent each participant shared was breathtaking to us.

The following faculty and staff participated: Chris Burkhart, trumpet; David Libby, piano; Kait Colegrove, drums and vocals; Rob Barbarita, bass and alto saxophone; Brian Mahoney, guitar and vocals; Zach Coffman, percussion, harmonica and vocals; Mirella Gable, French horn; Heather Sadkowski, clarinet; Juleeann Schlitter, vocals; Julie Keefer, piano; Elly Rolfes, marimba; Windsor Allen, vocals; Marian Sunnergren, vocals; Terry Alvey, trumpet; and Nick Greeson, alto saxophone.

The finale, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," sent us off with smiles and great admiration for the CHSD music faculty.

I was disappointed with the attendance; it would have been great to see other faculty, staff and students attend to show their support for their fellow colleagues.

I look forward to attending other musical performances at the various CHSD schools, and urge each and every one of you to take time out of your busy schedules to come out and attend.

Our music students are in good hands at CHSD. Thanks again to all the music faculty for a great performance.
