The Cape Henlopen High School girls’ lacrosse team defeated Tatnall 17-10 May 27 to win its 12th straight state championship.
The Lady Vikings have won every contested state title since 2009. The 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID pandemic.
The last time the Cape girls' lacrosse team lost a game in Delaware was May 2, 2009 to St. Andrew’s.
Boys lose to Sallies
In boys’ action, Cape fell to Salesianum 12-10 in the state championship game played in Dover immediately after the girls’ game.
