The Cape girls’ tennis squad defeated Sussex Academy 3-2 April 2 at the Vikings’ courts. They move to 3-0 on the season.
Cape’s Noa Aboutboul defeated Sienna Tunnell 6-1, 6-3 at second singles, while Morgan Green outlasted Sage Tunnell 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 at third singles. Kathryn Costello and Sia Patel downed the Seahawks’ first doubles team of Sumita Haldar and Catherine Reilly 6-6 (7-5), 7-5.
Sussex Academy first singles player Karina Lopez defeated Rachel Ramjattansingh 7-5, 6-3 ,and the second doubles team of Callie Juliano and Sienna Tamburo took a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Cape’s Kyli Doyon-Baridon and Mina Swier.
Cape earned its fourth win of the season April 5 with a 4-3 victory over Worcester Prep.
The Cape boys’ team defeated Sussex Academy 5-0 to move to 3-0 on the season.

Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
