Representatives from Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 recently visited Mariner Middle School in Milton to deliver supplies to support student learning.
Dr. John Kreitzer, Elks scholarship chair, worked with Jaqui Sheridan, Mariner Middle counselor, to identify the most critically needed items. At the top of the list were kids' headphones to be used for testing and online learning.
The Elks provided 40 headphones, 50 earbuds and 15 chargers with cords. Other supplies included 100 notebooks, 12 three-ring binders with 400 dividers, 288 pencil pouches, 300 highlighters and 120 sticky-note pads.
Funds used to purchase the items originated from a $1,000 educational grant awarded to the Cape Henlopen Elks from the regional MD-DE-DC Elks Association.
