Cape High teacher to discuss latest novel Dec. 3
The Lewes Public Library will welcome author Michael Kardos for a discussion and signing of his newly released novel, “Fun City Heist,” at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes, and online via Zoom.
A comedic thriller, “Fun City Heist” tells the story of a rock band that reunites years after their disastrous breakup for one last gig at a beachfront amusement park – in order to rob it. The novel is the author’s fourth; previous books by Kardos have appeared on best-of-the-year lists in national publications and have been optioned for film.
Kardos will be in conversation with Maribeth Fischer, author of “A Season of Perfect Happiness” and executive director of the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild.
Registration is required, and participants will be asked to select in-person or online attendance. Visit tinyurl.com/AuthorEventsLPL or call 302-645-2733 to sign up.
This event is co-sponsored by the Lewes Public Library, Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild and Browseabout Books.
Now in his third year teaching English at Cape Henlopen High School, Kardos is a two-time Pushcart Prize winner and a 2024 Delaware Division of the Arts individual fellowship recipient in fiction. Originally from the Jersey Shore, Kardos received a degree in music from Princeton University and played the drums professionally before turning to fiction writing. He co-directed the creative writing program at Mississippi State University until 2022, when he and his family moved to Rehoboth Beach.
