Cape holds inclusivity and access resource fair

December 6, 2023

The Cape Henlopen School District Special Programs department hosted its first inclusivity and access resource fair Nov. 2, at the Sussex Consortium.

With 25 organizations represented, families of students with special needs were able to network and collect information on programs, activities and resources for their children.

Several organizations hosted short presentations, while others had informational tables set up in the cafeteria. Families received information from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, special needs trust funds, life insurance, Autism Delaware, and a variety of other activities such as Girls on the Run, Children's Beach House, First Tee Golf, and the Milton and Rehoboth libraries, which signed up students and families for library cards.

Organizers extend thanks to all the vendors who participated and helped make the event a success.

The complete list of participants consists of Delaware Tech Disability Services, Champions for Children’s Mental Health, Sussex Libraries, Girls on the Run, Pyramid, Columbus Organization, Community Integrated Services, Children’s Beach House, Easterseals Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Child Inspired, State Farm, ACCESS Project – SPEACS, Special Olympics Delaware, B23 Early Intervention Program, Procino-Wells & Woodland LLC, Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, Down Syndrome Association of Delaware, Delaware Network for Excellence in Autism, Kent-Sussex Industries, Delaware Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, First Tee - Delaware, Delaware Guidance Services, YMCA, Autism Delaware, Mid-Atlantic ADA, and the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Disabilities.
