The Cape girls’ lacrosse team beat Kent Island 14-5 April 10, then lost to Marriotts Ridge 13-9 April 11, at the Shore Break Tournament held at Kent Island High School.
The Vikings are now 3-2 on the season heading into a Monday, April 13, home game versus Queen Anne’s County High School.
“Queen Anne’s is always tough with a quick turnaround. We need to be ready. They’re always well coached and organized. Another great test early,” said coach Lindsey Underwood. “Archmere is having a great start to the season as well, so the girls need to stay checked in and keep working.”
The front-loaded schedule was embraced by the Cape coaches.
“We see an opportunity to improve,” Underwood said.
Coach PJ Kesmodel set the formula to go play the best people to make the team better.
“MR was one of the best games we have played so far, so the girls are focusing on the positives coming out of that game,” said Underwood. Mairead [Rishko] and Avary [Miller] are still battling a few injuries, but overall they are doing well.”
