Cape Leo Club hosts Graveyard Classic

November 5, 2013

The Cape Henlopen Leo Club hosted the First Graveyard Classic Handball Tournament Saturday, Oct. 26, at Cape Henlopen High School. Twenty-one teams registered for the double-elimination tournament.

After five hours of competitive tournament play, the team of Supa Savages, with Capt. Miguel Merino-Sanchez, John Warren, Tyriek Burton, Terrance McMahon, DD Gooch, Billy Swontek, and Juan Saez was crowned the champion.

“This was a great tournament, and Leo Club worked very hard to make the tournament successful," said Leo Club advisor Mike Connors. "We are hoping to have additional tournaments in the near future.  Our students need positive recreational outlets in the community.”

Profits from the tournament will be donated to local organizations in need of support. The Leo Club thanks all teams for a successful tournament.
