“SAS is a strong team, and both teams put in a lot of effort,” said McGreevy. “Our win was not just based off of our first-place winners, but our seconds, thirds, fourths and fifths. I am happy about the way our team pulled together.”

“The kids on both teams were super excited for this meet, making it that much more intense,” said Cape coach Bill Geppert. “Both teams swam great times; we were fortunate to win some very close races. All of our swimmers rose to the occasion. I challenged them to respond, and they did in a big way. I am proud of the efforts of the team and our coaching staff in dealing with some last-minute adversity. Some of our swimmers, like Lindsey Reynolds and LB Harrington, were put in events and really responded well. We look forward to continuing to improve as we finish out the season.”

Cape was set to swim against Stephen Decatur Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Sussex Family YMCA, while Sussex Academy hosted Caesar Rodney.
