Cape volleyball celebrates seniors with a win

May 8, 2023

Cape’s 11 seniors all saw action in the Vikings’ 25-9, 25-16, 25-12 win over MOT Charter May 4 on Cape’s hardwood.

Senior Dylan Henry and Brady Lamb had 10 and seven kills, respectively. Junior setter Talon Stephens put up 25 assists.

“Tonight was a fun night showcasing our seniors,” said Cape coach Tyler Coupe. “Getting 11 players into a match where only six players are on the court isn’t easy and involved some flexibility from our guys playing positions they’re not typically playing. But they knew the responsibilities and their roles, and I thought they executed efficiently. We served really well and put steady pressure on them, forcing a lot of free balls that we were able to terminate quickly. Our serve-receive between Odin [Potemski], Brady [Lamb], and Niko [Panyko] was just brilliant — it was so consistently in system. I thought Declan Morrissey and Dylan Henry really shined through on the offensive end. These 11 seniors have kept us coaches on our toes this season. There’s a lot of personality, but that’s what we want from our players. We want them to be themselves and be comfortable with who they are.”
