Captrust donates to Sussex Montessori School
For the third year in a row, the Captrust Community Foundation and Vice President Cathy Seeber have supported Sussex Montessori School on its annual giving day, this time with a donation of $7,850.
Captrust now grants more than $1 million annually from matching contributions by its advisors to assist children’s causes in their regions. Based in Lewes, Seeber provides comprehensive planning, investment and advisory services for families and individuals in Sussex County.
“Sussex Montessori School has tremendous impact on the lives of a significant number of very needy children,” said Seeber. The school, located in Seaford, provides a free kindergarten to sixth grade Montessori education to primarily lower-income, rural families. Seeber said such young children are the least prepared of any in Delaware when they enter school.
“We are delighted to continue this wonderful relationship with Cathy and Captrust,” said Lisa Coldiron, SMS head of school. “She sees the need for what we bring to western Sussex and is a terrific advocate for the school.”
Now in its fourth year, Sussex Montessori School is serving 460 children with an individualized curriculum designed to provide each child the time and support needed to succeed.
The school also provides a host of health and human services to its students and families, which many of its students need to benefit and prosper.
Sussex Montessori is currently accepting donations to complete the remaining capital needs on its campus.
