Carter family has strong ties to U.S. Navy

City of Lewes honors veterans with Memorial Day banners
May 27, 2020

Among the Lewes Memorial Day banners attached to utility poles in honor of local veterans is one for Frank Carter Jr., who served at Fort Miles during World War II. He’s just one member of a long line of family members with U.S. Navy connections. Frank Carter Sr. served at sea during World War I; Frank “Nick” Carter III, a Lewes Realtor, served two tours in Vietnam; and his son, Frank, a Worcester Preparatory School graduate, will attend the U.S. Naval Academy, following in the footsteps of his family.
