Claire A. Payeur, IRS retiree

Claire A. Payeur, 93, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, at her home.  She was born March 30, 1926, in Lawrence, Mass., daughter of the late Pierre and Edna Marsan.

Mrs. Payeur was a graduate of St. Anne High School in Lawrence.  She was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for over 28 dedicated years.  Mrs. Payeur, along with her husband, provided outreach at the St. Vincent de Paul Center in Holiday, Fla., for 26 years, and was very active in all the church communities in which she resided.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Payeur was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Norman Payeur; and her daughter, Corinne Payeur.  She is survived by her sons: Ronald Payeur (Katy) of South Bend, Ind., and Marc Payeur (Joan) of Salem, N.H.; her daughter, Diane Mulkhey (Joseph) of Rehoboth Beach; her seven grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Joseph "Ray" Marsan (Arlene); her sister, Theresa Perrault; and her niece, Gail Boupassa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m., at St. Jude Church, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, N.H., where friends may gather to visit with the family beginning at 9 a.m.  Interment will take place at a later date at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker St., Lawrence.
