Columbiettes donate toys to Ronald McDonald House

January 12, 2020

The Bishop James C. Burke Columbiettes from the Millsboro, Milton, Lewes, Rehoboth and Georgetown areas recently held a toy drive to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, where nearly 700 families from central and southern Delaware stay each year.

The Bishop James C. Burke Columbiettes affiliated with James C. Burke Knights of Columbus is a women’s service organization that provides support, scholarships and assistance to multiple groups in their area. For more information about the Bishop James C. Burke Columbiettes, contact Edna Lemiska at e.lemiska@verizon.net or Rosemary Hoffmann at hoffmannrosemary@yahoo.com.

The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware serves as a home-away-from-home for families who have a child receiving specialized pediatric medical care at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children or Christiana Hospital. The house provides a safe and affordable guestroom in a convenient location that makes it easier for families to stay together while their seriously or chronically ill or injured children receive medical treatment.
