Community Bank Delaware director of the month is Diane Cooley

Diane Cooley is Community Bank Delaware’s Director of the Month for August.

Cooley is an attorney and partner in the law firm of Pires Cooley.

She attended Boston University where she received her bachelor’s degree in comparative political and social change, graduating cum laude, with distinction. She went on to earn her law degree from Georgetown University. Cooley practices in the area of civil litigation, including class actions, representing plaintiffs. She is admitted to practice in the jurisdictions of Washington, D.C., Massachusetts and Connecticut, and several federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

In 2012, Cooley joined the Community Bank Delaware board of directors and currently serves on the ALCO and audit committees.

“Ms. Cooley’s competence, education, experience, and integrity are valuable assets to the board, bank and our community,” said Jack Riddle, bank president. 

For more than 18 years, Cooley has lived in Dewey Beach with her husband Alex Pires. She has been an active participant with dozens of local nonprofit and charitable organizations, specifically, dog rescue, breast cancer awareness and human rights.

As Community Bank Delaware’s director of the month, she is awarded $500 for her charity of choice, the Food Bank of Delaware.
