Concert to support local senior center set March 15 in Rehoboth

March 7, 2026

The Rehoboth Concert Band invites the public to its upcoming performance set for 3 p.m., Sunday, March 15, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach. The show, titled Soaring: Rising on the Wings of Sound, is a musical experience that celebrates the unique ways music can teach people to reach for the skies.

With the band’s growing following, tickets will be at a premium, and advance ticket purchase is available online at rehobothconcertband.org, and in person at the Cape Henlopen Senior Center, 11 Christian St., Rehoboth Beach. Tickets will be sold for cash only at the door if seats are still available; youth 18 and under attend free.

Proceeds from this program will benefit the Cape Henlopen Senior Center. Audience members will be invited to soar with RCB and the “Purple Martins,” fly with the “Red Tails” and “Journey Through Orion,” among several other destinations. Featured composers include David Shaffer, Julie Giroux and James Ployhar as well as lesser-known composers Ayatey Shabazz, Yukiko Nishimura and several more. A special Motown medley will pay tribute to the senior center’s 60 years of service to the community.

Band Director Steven Kieley urges everyone to “Come experience an inspiring program of music that lifts the spirit while supporting programs that enhance the lives of local seniors. Join us for an afternoon where soaring melodies meet a meaningful cause.”
