Condie ‘Dutch’ Myers, Korean War veteran

Condie Earl "Dutch" Myers, 83, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Macungie, Pa., passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Born in Van Dyke, Mich., he was the son of the late Edgar Myers and Lowetta (Wakeley) Myers.

A veteran of the Korean War, Dutch retired from military service as command sargeant major after proudly and faithfully serving his country for 22 years. He was a recipient of the soldier’s medal.  He enjoyed life with his family and friends and was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean ( Kuntz) Myers; three sons: Warren his wife Ann, their children Patrick, Alex and Molly of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; Ken and his children Cody and Devon of Macungie; and Robert and his wife Erin and children Tyler, Natalya and Trey of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter Patricia Steiner and her children Derick and Amanda of Orefield, Pa.; sister Joyce Groves and husband Tom of Madison Heights, Mich.; and one great-grandchild Wyatt.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday Sept. 10, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
