Cool Spring Crossing mixed-use plan has many benefits

January 2, 2026

I am writing in support of the Cool Spring Crossing mixed-use master plan. I feel that it is in the best interest of our community to provide diverse housing options that will include designated workforce housing units.

As someone who has been in the restaurant industry for 25-plus years, the ever-increasing challenge of recruiting and retaining local workforce continues to rise. When the hardworking individuals who service our beautiful resort communities can’t afford to be part of the actual community, it is detrimental on so many levels.

The Cool Spring Crossing mixed-use plan will bring solutions to some real needs of our community.

Those include: housing diversity, workforce housing, environmental sustainability, thoughtful amenities, a new regional YMCA, boutique retail/restaurants, a grocery store, and education and arts facilities.

If the developer is forced to move forward with a cluster subdivision, the only benefits will be environmental sustainability and thoughtful amenities.
