Crystal Fuhrmann joins Aquacare Physical Therapy team
Crystal Fuhrmann, certified athletic trainer and corrective exercise specialist, has joined Aquacare Physical Therapy’s Millville location. Fuhrmann is a 2001 magna cum laude graduate of Barton College in North Carolina, where she received a BS in sports medicine. Upon graduating from college, she passed her national boards exam to become certified as an athletic trainer in February 2002.
She began her career working at a hospital in North Carolina as a physical therapy technician in an inpatient and outpatient setting. During her tenure at the hospital, Fuhrmann gained experience working not only with athletic conditions but also with conditions that everyday people have to deal with, such as cerebrovascular accidents, artificial joint replacements and amputations.
The next step in her career path led her to working as an assistant athletic trainer at Mount Olive College, an NCAA Division II school, and she was later promoted to head athletic trainer. Some of Fuhrmann's responsibilities as athletic trainer in a college setting included evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, overseeing distribution of athletic training funds, providing coverage for all home sporting events for 13 NCAA sports, supervising athletic training students and staff, and teaching athletic training classes.
She then moved to Delaware and became a clinical outreach athletic trainer working at NovaCare in conjunction with Salisbury University to provide treatment and coverage to the women's soccer and lacrosse teams. During her first year at SU, 2008, the women's lacrosse team was runner-up in the NCAA tournament.
Fuhrmann resides in Delaware with her husband, Todd, and two children: Madison, 3, and Tristen, 10 months.
She is available to see patients Monday through Friday in Aquacare's Millville office. Aquacare Physical Therapy accepts most insurances. Call 302-539-3110 for more information.
