Cub Scout Pack 95 excels at chariot race events

Cub Scout Pack 95 participated in the Cub Scouts Chariot Races Nov. 1, along with scouts from Pack 1, Lewes; Pack 89, Millsboro; and Pack 584, Seaford. The event was held on a beautiful day at the Redden State Forest picnic area.
Each chariot is pulled by six horses (scouts) with a rider (one scout) directing the route to complete six stations. Challenges include tossing a roll of toilet paper into a net; weaving through a shifting path marked by orange cones; stepping in and out of tires; walking a balance beam; ring toss; and finally, the over-and-under with a basketball. Every chariot is timed as they complete the stations.
Once all the dens had raced, the winners were announced based on time. In the Lion and Tiger Den category, the Pack 95 Lion Den came in first and the Pack 95 Tiger Den came in second. In the Wolf and Bear category, the Pack 95 Bear Den came in first with the Pack 95 Wolf Den finishing in a close second. The Pack 95 Arrow of Light Den took first place in its category, with bragging rights for the overall win going to the Pack 95 Webelos Den, with a best time score of 6 minutes, 6 seconds.
