Daniel Lewis Mehring, construction carpenter

December 2, 2021

Daniel Lewis Mehring, 63, of Georgetown, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2021. He was born May 28, 1958, in Plainfield, N.J., son of the late David Cloud Mehring and Anna Coe Lewis Dixon of Warrenton, Mo. He was also predeceased by a sister, Anne Canepa.

Mr. Mehring was a construction carpenter his entire life. A kindhearted spirit with a great sense of humor, he always had a kind and charitable nature, helping others in any way he could. He enjoyed playing darts and a game of billiards, and in his early years he could always be found in the warmer months swimming in the bay. Being a voracious reader gave him a unique keenness for the English language and permitted him to be very intellectual when needed, whether serious or jokingly.

In addition to his mother, Anne “Kip” Lewis Dixon of Warrenton, he is survived by his wife, Angela Karen Raboin; his sister, Sue Moreau (Gary) of Wright City, Mo.; his brother, Jeff Mehring (Bess) of Providence, R.I.; his stepchildren: Amanda Fischer; Ashley Jazenski (Joe) and their daughter Emma; Arin Kluchnick (Dr. George) and their children, Adrien and Fern; and Karl Richter; and many loving family members, including numerous cousins and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 2 p.m.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing are required by all persons attending or participating in any aspect of the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 17, 113 American Legion Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
