David Clifford Bethard, enjoyed the coast

David Clifford Bethard, 70, of Millsboro passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.  He was born Sunday, April 30, 1950, in Chester, Pa., son of the late Archie W. and Mildred Bethard.

David was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Navy. After his service, he worked as a steel mill cook. David loved living near water and enjoyed everything coastal living had to offer, particularly fishing and crabbing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers: Archie Bethard Jr. and Frank Bethard; and his sister, Tina Bethard.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Bethard of Millsboro; his grateful children: Karen Bethard of Millsboro and David Bethard Jr.; his adored grandchildren: Krista Bethard of Millsboro and David Bethard III of New Castle; his great-grandson, Legend Barnes of Millsboro; his sister, Debbie Bethard of Lewes;  and his nieces and nephew.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m., at  Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow the services at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
