David J. Leppo Sr., Kraft Foods retiree

David J. Leppo Sr., 85, of Lewes passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his family.  He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Leroy and Kathryn Leppo.

Mr. Leppo lived most of his life in the Magnolia and Lewes areas.  He was a graduate of Greenwood High School, class of 1953. Mr. Leppo was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard and built a career with Kraft Foods, retiring from both after more than 30 dedicated years.

Mr. Leppo was a collector of just about everything.  He was a member of the Greenwood High School Alumni, the Dover Chapter of Parents Without Partners, a life member of the Historical Vintage Car Club of Delaware, a member of Delrods Car Club of Delaware, and the Dover Stamp Club.  He was a founding member of County Seat Cruisers and Just Cruzn Eazy Club.  Mr. Leppo was also a member of the NRA and the Delaware Redmen of Lewes.  Above all, Mr. Leppo was a family man who cherished time spent with those he held most dear.  He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Nathan Leppo.  He is survived by his lifelong friend and mother of his children, Gwen Leppo of Lewes;  his sons: Tony Bryan (Debbie Schwartz) of Milton, David Jesse Leppo Jr. (Natalya) of Georgetown, and Bruce Leppo Sr. (Karen Reed) of Concord; his daughter, Eileen King Imhoff (Jesse) of Rehoboth Beach; his grandchildren: Abigail Leppo, Briana Leppo, Wayne Leppo, Crystal Bryan, Melissa Parsons, Kimberly King, Shane Bryan, Robin Mitchel and Lewie Bryan; his 19 great-grandchildren; his brother, Harry "Butch" Leppo (Sally) of Milton; his sisters: Susan Allen of California, Lillian Reynolds of Lewes and Bobbie Moore of Milton;  his numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and the love of his life, his 1951 Studebaker Starlight Coupe.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may view beginning at 10 a.m.  Interment with military honors will follow the services at Henlopen Memorial Park, Lockerman Road, Milton. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks must be worn and social distancing protocols must be observed by everyone participating in any aspect of the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Leppo's memory to Home of the Brave Foundation, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE  19963.
