David R. Peterson, Walgreens manager

May 15, 2019

David R. Peterson, 39, of Seaford passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Clearwater, Fla., Jan. 6, 1980, to Joan E. (Snyder) Peterson and the late William L. Peterson.

Dave was a graduate of Largo High School, class of 1998.  He went on to build a career in retail managment, most recently working as a store manager for Walgreens.  Dave loved all things outdoors, camping being among his favorite activities, and he had a soft spot for animals, especially those of the canine persuasion.  A Coca-Cola aficionado, rarely was Dave seen without his favorite drink in hand.  More than anything, however, he really cherished time spent with those he held dear.  He was a loving and devoted husband, son, brother, uncle and nephew, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his father, Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marion and Raymond Snyder.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Maidelis Peterson of Seaford;  his mother, Joan E. Peterson of Seaford; his brother, William "Rich" Peterson and his wife Amy of Safety Harbor, Fla.; his niece, Emma Peterson of Safety Harbor; his nephew, Angelo Russo of Clearwater, Fla.; and his aunt and uncle, Shirley and Edward Sentman of Mount Laurel, N.J.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 16, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, a member of the Parsell Funeral Family, 609 East King St., Seaford.  All other services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Dave's memory to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund,  901 E St. NW, Suite 100, Washington, DC  20004, or www.nleomf.org.
