David S. Swayze, 81, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn DePew-Swayze; daughter, Lisa Swayze-Thomas (Melvin); son, Scott; brother, Bruce Swayze (Mary); sister, Patricia Ball (Jim); along with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
An obituary will follow, highlighting David’s remarkable life. In the warmth of spring, a celebration of life will be held at Wilmington Country Club in his remembrance.
