Del Tech Owens offers professional bartending courses starting Feb. 7
Delaware Tech Owens Campus is offering several professional bartending courses this spring to help anyone looking to become a bartender this summer, take on a second job or improve their existing bartending skills.
Professional Bartending begins Tuesday, Feb. 7, and runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays for eight weeks. Participants learn about mixing, presentation, glassware identification, drink recipes, proper etiquette, appearance and professional handling of certain situations.
Professional Bar Management begins Tuesday, April 3, and runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. for six weeks on Tuesdays. Participants will learn how to manage liquor supplies, manage employees, plan marketing strategies, deal with vendors and find entertainment. The course will also cover public relations, food service and local and state ordinances and laws.
Professional Bartending Training and Management begins Tuesday, Feb. 7 and runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays for 14 weeks. This course combines both professional bartending and professional bar management. It covers mixing, glassware identification, inventory control, staff management, marketing strategies, cost control techniques, and local and state laws.
Those interested in registering for any of the three courses must be at least 21 years old.
