Delaware Bankers Association elects new officers

Edward A. Reznick, president and CEO, Deutsche Bank Trust Company Delaware, was elected and installed as the chairman of the Delaware Bankers Association May 12 at the DBA’s 116th annual meeting in Wilmington.

The DBA also elected and installed Christina M. Favilla, president, Discover Bank, to the position of chairman-elect. Other members of the DBA Board of Directors are: Susan Faulkner, deposits and card products executive, Bank of America; David E. Gillan, chairman and CEO, County Bank; Mark A. Graham, EVP, wealth advisory services, Wilmington Trust; Douglas S. Griese, SVP - business banking manager, Wells Fargo; Rodger Levenson, executive vice president, WSFS Bank; Lynda Messick, president and CEO, Community Bank Delaware; Gayle Rogers, senior vice president, Artisans’ Bank; Geoffrey M. Rogers, managing director, Glenmede; P. Randolph Taylor, president and CEO, Delaware National Division, Fulton Bank, N.A., and, Clinton W. Walker, chief administrative officer, Barclays Bank Delaware (past chairman).

The DBA also announced the winners of the 2011 Keys to Financial Success Scholarship Award. The winners were Chad Killen, a senior at Caesar Rodney High School and Jessica Nines, a senior at Padua Academy, both of whom participated in the Keys to Financial Success course. Each winner receives a $2,500 scholarship.

Keys to Financial Success is a full-semester elective taught in 27 high schools throughout Delaware to over 1,850 students. The course was developed in partnership with the University of Delaware’s Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship, Delaware Bankers Association, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Maryland and Delaware. Keys to Financial Success introduces students to the fundamentals of sound money management skills and basic financial planning concepts including goals and decision-making, career research, money management, consumer skills and risk protection.

In addition, at the annual dinner the DBA unveiled Delaware’s Banks 2011 – Good Neighbors, a publication that summarizes the contributions the banking industry made to the First State in the past year.

The Delaware Bankers Association is a not-for-profit, private trade association that represents its members that are chartered to do banking business in the state of Delaware in the areas of state and federal advocacy, education, community outreach, communications and events.
