Delaware Humane seeks loving homes to Clear the Shelters thru Sept. 19

Fees reduced to encourage companion animal adoptions
August 28, 2021

Delaware Humane Association, a statewide animal welfare organization with adoption centers in Rehoboth Beach and Wilmington, is teaming up once again with shelters across the country to find loving homes for companion animals as part of NBC's Clear the Shelters adoption event.

Throughout the month-long campaign, Delaware Humane encourages the local community to help clear the shelters by adopting an available cat or dog. To rally potential adopters, all adoption fees at both adoption centers will be reduced between those dates.

Delaware Humane will completely waive adoption fees for all adult animals adopted Saturday, Sept. 18, in both Rehoboth Beach and Wilmington.

All animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and examined by a veterinarian prior to adoption. All dogs are tested for heartworm. All cats are tested for feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus.

The downstate Delaware Humane adoption center is at 18675 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth. For more information, go to delawarehumane.org or call 302-200-7159.
