The Delaware Master Naturalist Program will host an open house from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 11, at the Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes.
The program trains citizens as ambassadors and stewards of Delaware’s natural resources and ecosystems through science-based education and volunteer opportunities.
Delaware Master Naturalist volunteers work with with local nonprofits committed to environmental stewardship and public education about the First State’s native surroundings and wildlife.
An eight-week training course will meet via Zoom from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., starting Wednesday, Jan. 21. A field component to the training will start in March and continue through the end of the year. There is also a 40-hour volunteer commitment annually.
