Delaware Tech offers variety of personal enrichment classes
People over 50 who want to broaden their horizons while making new friends and learning new things are invited to take advantage of the fall personal enrichment courses offered by Corporate and Community Programs at Delaware Technical & Community College in Georgetown.
The Adult Plus+ Couples Club includes laughter, delicious food, and great company - a great time! Join in the fun from noon to 2:30 p.m., the second Thursday of each month, starting Sept. 8 until June 2012.
Senior Sneakers is a fun 50-and-older exercise class geared toward seniors that helps improve coordination, balance and flexibility. It is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 13 to Sept. 29 from 10 to 11 am.
Beginner Horseback Riding, offered at Singletree Stables indoor riding ring in Seaford, will help participants learn the basics of safety, stable management, and equestrian skills while having fun. The class is offered from 8 to 9 a.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 20 to Oct. 11.
Dominoes, a classic pastime, is offered from 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesdays, from Sept. 21 to Jan. 11, at the CHEER Community Center in Georgetown. Bingo is offered on the same dates from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the same location.
Adult Plus+ Mixed Singles is a way to meet new people, get together and enjoy great food and company. A casual way to make friends and plan social outings, Mixed Singles is offered the third Wednesday of each month until August 2012 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Learn the keys to successful watercolor painting in a relaxed setting with great instruction and interaction for all skill levels. Watercolor is offered every other Thursday starting Sept. 22 and ending Dec. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. One session drop-in is available for $15.
Portrait Workshop is a class with informal instruction and individual assistance - it is perfect for beginner to intermediate artists and is offered on Thursdays from Sept. 22 to Oct. 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. One session drop-in is available for $15.
