Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame nominations due April 2

She’s On Her Way Award also seeks nominees
February 18, 2026

Gov. Matt Meyer and the Office of Women’s Advancement and Advocacy are accepting nominees for induction into the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame and for the She’s On Her Way Award for 2026.

Nomination forms are available online at dhr.delaware.gov/women/halloffame/index.shtml. The deadline for submissions is midnight, Thursday, April 2.

“Delaware’s history and future are shaped by extraordinary women who lead, serve and lift up their communities every day,” Meyer said. “The Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame and the She’s On Her Way Awards give us the opportunity to recognize both the trailblazers whose legacies endure and the young leaders who are already making a difference. I encourage Delawareans across the state to nominate the women whose impact deserves to be celebrated.”

The Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame was established in 1981 to recognize the achievements of outstanding Delaware women and their contributions to communities across the state. The program honors women who have made an important and lasting impact on the lives of Delawareans, have resided in the state for at least 10 years during their lifetime and have accomplishments that leave a lasting legacy. The 2026 induction ceremony will be held in the fall.

Ahead of the induction celebration, the Office of Women’s Advancement and Advocacy continues to commission a watercolor portrait of each Hall of Fame member. The collection of 170 portraits is currently on display in the lobby of ChristianaCare’s Center for Heart and Vascular Health in Newark. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular business hours.

OWAA also created a website featuring the portraits and biographies of all the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame members.

The She’s On Her Way Award, organized by the Delaware Commission for Women, recognizes the achievements and celebrates the contributions of talented young female leaders making a difference in Delaware. A celebratory luncheon will be held in June. All nominees must be women between 18 and 30 years of age as of Tuesday, June 30.

Nominees must be current Delaware residents of at least three years who exemplify integrity, leadership and a commitment to strengthening their community. The Delaware Commission for Women reviews, rates and deliberates each nomination, and selects the awardees. The commission encourages nominations that reflect the rich diversity of Delaware’s communities and experiences, including individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds, abilities, professions and perspectives.
