DelDOT prepares for July 4th holiday

DART’s Beach Bus provides alternatives to driving in resort areas

The Delaware Department of Transportation will be suspending construction-related lane closures until 12:01 a.m., Sunday, July 5.

 

DART services over holiday

Route 305 – Beach bus connection from Wilmington to Rehoboth begins service, operating Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Saturday, July 4 - DART’s Beach Bus services and Route 305, beach connection, will also operate, with complimentary ADA-only service for paratransit. All other fixed-route and paratransit services will not operate.

To promote the use of contactless, cashless fare payments using the DART Pass mobile payment app, DART is offering further discounts on daily, 7-day and 30-day passes on the app.

Riders must wear face coverings when riding any DART bus. Those not wearing face coverings will not be allowed to board the bus. Children 12 years and under are not required to wear a face covering nor are individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition; children ages 2 and under must not wear them. Transportation Management Center

DelDOT’s Transportation Management Center and WTMC 1380 AM provide motorists real-time traffic conditions throughout the state. Motorists can contact TMC 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to report any travel or traffic-related issues at the following numbers:  Dial #77 from cellphone in Delaware, 302-659-4600, or 1-800-324-8379.

Phase 2 at DMV

As of June 15, the following changes have been implemented by the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles:

• Operating at 60 percent building capacity

• Motorcycle classes resume in accordance with all state and federal guidance (face masks, health screening, etc.)

• Screening of all staff and customers entering facilities

• Customers and employees must wear face coverings

• Appointments can be scheduled online with expanded services

• Dedicated hours for seniors and vulnerable population from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m., Monday through Friday

• Wednesday operations at DMV remain 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no evening hours.
