December 12, 2022

The Delmarva Christian boys’ basketball team moved to 2-2 on the season with a 41-39 squeaker over the Spartans of Lake Forest Dec. 8.

The Royals were led by senior Carter Breasure with 15 points. Ed Higgins and Kasey Bell both hit for nine.

“We just had to play great defense and lock down Jackson Starkey,” said Breasure. “He’s a great player. We just had to come out and do what we do, trust each other and we came out with the win.”

“I’m glad our guys are learning how to win,” said Royals coach Marc Hannah. “We just turned it up defensively against a really good team. I’m really proud of our effort.”

Jamir Marable led the Spartans with 10 points, while his teammate Darius Miller sank nine. Jaabir Robinson scored seven.

The Royals travel to First State Military Academy Tuesday, Dec. 13, while the Spartans go to Woodbridge.
