Delmarva Christian High School welcomed alumni back to their alma mater Dec. 16, for a day filled with spirited sportsmanship, prestigious recognitions and a touch of nostalgia. The day's schedule featured thrilling basketball matchups, an induction ceremony for the Delmarva Christian Athletic Hall of Fame and an exciting alumni basketball game.
Delmarva Christian showcased its commitment to athletic excellence and sportsmanship, fostering an electric atmosphere that resonated throughout the day with the varsity girls’ and boys’ basketball teams hosting Sussex Central. Following the games, the DCS Athletic Hall of Fame proudly welcomed coach Jim Berger, along with former athletes Tyler Troyer, Lauryl Berger and Haley Timko, into this prestigious circle of excellence. Their remarkable contributions to Delmarva Christian's athletic legacy were celebrated, adding a touch of honor and pride to the day's festivities.
All alumni were invited to participate and relive the thrill of the game on the familiar courts with an alumni basketball match. Jason Matthews, DCS alumni relations and advancement coordinator, was excited about the events: "We were thrilled to welcome our alumni back to Delmarva Christian for a day of spirited competition, camaraderie and memories.The hall-of-fame event was wonderful for our families and inductees, and the alumni basketball game provided an opportunity for former students to reconnect and celebrate the rich athletic heritage of our school.”
